Opened in Georgia home adzhika

In the West of Georgia, in the Samegrelo region, the House of adjika – the famous spicy seasoning-will soon open. This is reported by Zugdidi radio "Atinati".
Adzhiki house will be a place where local residents and tourists can learn how to cook several types of seasonings, as well as try basic dishes of Georgian cuisine, which is considered to be the birthplace of Samegrelo.
Levan tsulaya, Executive Director of the DMO (organization for managing the destination of the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region), came up with the idea to create the adzhika House. According to him, gastronomy is an important direction for the development of tourism in the region.
"We can develop gastronomic tourism in Samegrelo by opening the house of adjika. There are also other projects: "visiting my grandmother", "adventures with shepherds" ... this means that you come to the village, to any family, enjoy unique hospitality and get acquainted with the special Megrelian cuisine," tsulaya explained.
DMO, which was founded in 2018 with the aim of developing tourism in the region, plans to revive a number of festivals in Samegrelo, among which the traditional Megrelian "Kuchha" is an analogue of the "Bedoba" ("day of destiny") holiday and one of the oldest national equestrian sports "Marula".
The first ajiki festival was held in Samegrelo in the summer of 2018. Later, such a festival was successfully held in Tbilisi.
Adjika is the most popular spicy seasoning in Georgia. It usually includes ground red pepper, coriander, blue fenugreek (utsho-suneli) and other herbs, as well as garlic and salt.
In different regions of the country, recipes for adjika differ, but it is in the West that this seasoning is scalding hot. Also, adjika is often prepared with the addition of mint.
